Russell joined Rowe Global to strengthen and expand our capabilities within the financial services sector. As an ex-investment banker, research analyst, specialist salesman and manager, he has a strong track record across a wide range of global markets, investment banking and hedge fund roles, having served many bulge bracket and boutiques as well as major multi-strat and single manager hedge funds. After 20 years in banking, Russell migrated into Executive Search, acquired his employer, built a highly successful boutique and then sold the firm to Options Group, the largest financial services search firm in the world. He then served as their Asian CEO, where he was not only leading producer but managed Asian market through a substantial period of growth. However, two years into Covid, he elected to be closer to family and relocated to Dallas, TX.

Since his return to the U.S., he has focused on the intersection of financial services and healthcare. He has worked with a dynamic group of Analysts, Bankers and Hedge Fund Investors within Healthcare (biotech/biopharma, devices/tools/diagnostics, healthcare services, healthcare technology). Given the number of PhDs/MDs across this universe, healthcare has a very unique place in industry coverage groups, and Russell has made this his forte in the past three years.

Russell grew up in a small town in Minnesota, reminiscent of “On Golden Pond” and was educated at the University of Minnesota and Manchester Business School (UK). While he spent most of the past 25 years in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore – he has quickly found his long-term home in Dallas. Russell and his wife have two grown children, and a happy golden retriever. He is an avid reader, particularly of history, historical fiction and global politics, and while he’s hung up his running shoes, he remains a life-long hockey fan.
